Workers' Compensation Rates vs. Experience Modifier

Thursday April 3, 2008

I read an excellent article at Americanprinter.com written by Frank Pennachio of WorkComp Partners that talks about eight mistakes businesses make when considering workers' compensation insurance. I encourage you to take a look at the article.

Mr. Pannachio writes that many employers look at workers' compensation as a business necessity rather than a core business practice and a means to improve your business. He also points out that even though workers' compensation rates across the country are falling, it means little if the employer becomes complacent and ends up with a higher experience modifier offsetting any deduction in premiums. Simply put, focusing on safety and a safe workplace even when premium rates are falling is a good core business practice and the best way to lower workers compensation premiums.
