Commercial Auto Insurance Websites
Helpful Websites to Shop for Commercial Auto Coverage

By Gregory Boop, About.com

There is no substitute for building a business relationship with an insurance professional dedicated to your business. A good business insurance and risk management plan, properly implemented and reviewed by an insurance professional, can lower premium cost, assist worker health and safety, and significantly reduce the risks faced by your business. This is especially true if your business involves the use of a large fleet of vehicles or is involved in transportation. I am an advocate of getting in-person professional assistance when developing a business insurance plan.

However, I counsel small businesses every day and I am a small business owner. I understand the time-saving convenience of shopping online. Commercial auto insurance is one element of your business insurance and risk management plan that can be researched and shopped for online with relative ease.

The following is a list of online commercial auto insurance websites from reputable or established websites. These sites may offer free online quotes, agent search features, information, or online applications. My listing here is for the convenience of my readers and not an endorsement of any particular insurer

  • Geico Commercial Auto-GEICO's site includes an "online" quote feature, but the company does contact you with the quote information.
  • Progressive Commercial Auto-Offers an agent search feature and a 1-800 number to receive a free rate quote.
  • The Hartford-Offers an agent search feature and provides some information about choosing commercial auto insurance.
  • Nationwide Commercial Auto-The link to the site states you can get a free quote, but I could not find it. The site does have a great deal of information including an online safety course.
  • AIG Commercial Auto-Has an agent locator and discusses some programs specific to particular industries.
  • State Farm Business Auto-This site has an agent search feature and a "business needs analyzer" that is really quite useful.
  • Allstate Business Insurance-The site has a "get a quote" form featured predominantly on the front page, but it is not a true online quote system.
  • Grange Insurance-Not much on this page except a link to find your local Grange agent.

Websites can be a great place to research you commercial auto needs and to find a good insurance professional to discus your specific business needs.
