"High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP"Definition: A High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) is a health insurance plan with lower premiums and higher deductibles than a traditional health plan. In return for very high deductible levels (In 2007, $1,100 for single and $2,000 for family) premiums are reduced substantially. Particpants in this plan are also able to establish a Health Savings Account (HSA). Also Known As: Abbreviation, HDHP; catastrophic health insurance plan
